Dr. Marina Elliott is a Canadian biological antropologist based in South Africa and was one of the original "Underground Astronauts" who recovered the Homo naledi fossil material from the Rising Star cave! "As some one who is passionate about science education, outreach, and as a scientist and woman, the mission and vision of the Heritage STEM camps resonated deeply with me so creating a way to fund South African girls to attend this camp made sense."
